    Default Lilly HUNSLEY to Canada

Lilly HUNSLEY was the daughter of William and Hannah HUNSLEY (nee DRAYTON)

Lilly was born in Scotton, Lincolnshire in Jun qtr 1880.

In the 1901 census she is living in the Glanford Brigg Lincolnshire, registration district.

Hannah, Lilly's mother, died in the Sept qtr of 1900.

On 19 Sep 1912 Lilly married William Jesse COULSON in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada.

Can anyone tell me when Lilly went to Canada Please?

    Thanks in advance

    Terry

There is a 31 year old Lily Hunsley, born in Scotton, still in England on the 1911 census; I can't see who she's with or her marital status. She's somewhere in the Glanford Brigg district.

From the free index to the outgoing passenger lists on FMP I can see there's a female L. Hunsley, born about 1881, leaving Liverpool in 1912 bound for Montreal.

The best fit that I can find is
    Name: Miss L HUNSLEY
Date of departure: 25 August 1912
    Port of departure: Liverpool
    Passenger destination port: Montreal, Canada
    Passenger destination: Montreal, Canada
    Age: 31
    Ship: SCANDINAVIAN
    Official Number: 109441
    Master's name: Thos Moar
    Steamship Line: Allan Line
    Where bound: Montreal, Canada
    Passengers on voyage: 437

But then the date looks too late.

Thank you very much Coromandel, Maybe she went out to be with her intended. William J was born in Hibaldstow, Lincolnshire in 1867. Maybe he had emigrated first or maybe they went together.

    Thank you again.

According to the Library and Archives Canada site, the ship arrived on 1 September 1912 . . . giving Lilly a whole 18 days to get ready for the wedding!

I haven't spotted him on the same voyage as Lilly: perhaps he'd gone out earlier to arrange work, accommodation, etc.?

Ancestry's Canadian Passenger List database has a "Lily ??ley" arriving on the Scandinavian in 1912. Perhaps SKS with access to Ancestry could check the image and see if it gives any other info.

The 1911 Canadian census index on Ancestry has a William J. Coulson in New Westminster, British Columbia.

P.S. You can see the details free on the Automated Genealogy site:

    https://
    automatedgenealogy.com/census11/

William J. Coulson's age isn't shown, unfortunately. He is single, and with William J.R. Smith and Selina Eliza. Smith; he's shown as William Smith's brother-in-law.

Looking at the free index on FMP there is only Last name COULSON first name Wm going to Canada. Not sure if it's him though, no DOB and I don't know where abouts Halifax is in Canada.

    First name Wm
    Year of birth Unknown
    Year of Departure 1911
    Port Liverpool
    Destination country Canada
    Destination Halifax
