This is a Census Reference Number which is used to help identify a particular entry in the Census schedules.

    Have a look at this> https://www.british-genealogy.com/cen...eferences.html

I can't get a grip on what went wrong here.

    Folio 60 has pages 9 and 10

    Then there's page 12.

Then there's folio 61 consisting of pages 13 and 14.

Is there some underlying problem with the foliation? Can someone check on FMP or somewhere?

    Folio 59 stamped on p.7
    Folio 60 stamped on p.9
    Folio 61 stamped on p.13

The page and schedule numbers are sequential from p. 7 though to p. 13.

It must be an inserted sheet. At least DavyTee’s now got the information he wanted.

Thanks for checking. It's as if TNA missed out a sheet when they were stamping the folio numbers. Perhaps this confused the Ancestry scanners (although it shouldn't because it was only scanned from microfilm)

Everything except the one page on which your family appears. Fortunately that page is available on findmypast.

If you want to see the original census image yourself, you can go to FMP and buy credits to see it. It won't cost very much. (People on this site are experts at spending other people's money!).
