    Default Find-A-Grave

Where is the best place to find out where an ancestor is buried in say....Camborne? In the U.S., we have Find-A-Grave. It has over 77 million burials added so far. I've been trying to add burials for my ancestors who died in Camborne but I haven't found a good resource yet to find burial locations. I found a few Cornish Inscription projects on the GENUKI site but they are not very extensive yet. I have sent for quite a few death certificates but alas, it doesn't give the burial location. Does the Parish Church itself have a Burial Book? Any help is greatly appreciated.

People with Cornish ancestors are very lucky.
First of all there is the wonderful OPC (Online Parish Clerks) site, plus a lot of the parish register images are available on FamilySearch.
    Start here https://www.
    cornwall-opc-database.org/index.php
(Scroll down for the relevant baptism, marriage, burial, etc sections.)
There may be more parish information available via the OPC link in the second paragraph.
For coverage of the individual parishes see the link in the top banner.

Parish registers in which some years still have to be indexed as well as images from the pages indexed may possibly be available via FamilySearch.

Headstones are possibly more common in the US than in the UK, so always look for the burial first.

I think Find-a-grave has some UK entries on it.
Another site I know of is https://www.
interment.net/uk/eng/index.htm but they don't seem to have any Cornish records.

    Also https://www.
    gravestonephotos.com/index.php

(We're not allowed to give direct links to commercial sites, or those which ask for money/donations which is why the links are in two parts.)

Deceased Online may have some information. You can do a free search and then buy credits to access any records you find.

The coverage isn't as yet comprehensive, but you may be lucky.

Thank you Pam for the prompt reply! I will look again at the OPC burial indexes. I hope it gives the name of a cemetery or burial location. I didn't know Interment.net had a section for England. That is a great idea. I also was not familiar with the gravestonephotos.com website. I also decided to look again at the familysearch.org website and just 'browse' the images in the Cornwall Parish Registers (1538-2010) for Camborne Burials 1845-1901. It does allow you to narrow down the search by town and that will help. Who knows...I may see some of my other ancestors buried along the way.:-) Thank you again.

Thank you Maggie. I hadn't heard of that website. I knew if I put the query out to all of you, I'd get good ideas and hints of what is available for your homeland. My surnames may not show up on the site right now but it looks like it will be a growing index and more will be added as time goes on and it catches on. So I'll bookmark it and visit it often to check. Thx. again.
