William Carr is one of my mystery people. Stories based on contemporary knowledge have him arriving
on the Royal Dane at Rockhampton Qld in 1865. He is supposed to have married my great great aunt
Magaret Gates. He is supposed to have gone to Townsville in the 1870s, where he had a senior position
at the Townsville meatworks. All i need is something to prove all this. A great deal of research has so far
found nothing. Can someone on British Genealogy help?
Thanks
Rockyboy

Have you checked Qld BMD index or Trove?

If you google William Carr Townsville meatworks, the RootsChat forum entry relates to this - where a whole saga unfolds!

Yes i have checked Qld BDM to no avail, and Trove has not come up with the answer to the Carr mystery. You might have seen the user name PWH on the Rootschat saga. That is my user name .
Even there there has been no solution.

Thought it might belong to you.
Ive been reading all that info on roots - what a tangled web you have there!
Regret I cannot help, but hopefully one of our brilliant 'brickwall' experts will soon come along - good luck with it.
