    Smile Another from Oz

Hello, I am David Hassell from South Australia and I am really impressed so far with the apparent warm welcome, responsiveness and friendliness of this site, and its ease of use.
I have been tracing family history for nearly 20 years and with an aim of discovering ancestors and pushing back the generations as far as possible. Back then, all research was via snail mail and family history centres, with no sites available such as this one which make the effort so much easier.
All my forebears came from the UK in the 1800s, and those of my wife:
The Hassell family from Leicester and the Midlands in the 1880s
James, Williams, Steer, Johns, Knuckeys and Pethericks from Cornwall, mainly miners
Robertsons and Stevensons from Scotland (including Robert Louis Stevenson connections)
Shannons, Moores, McFarlings, Locks from N Ireland, and
Wansbroughs and Candys from the Somerset/Wiltshire area
This spread of regions is an ideal base for British-Genealogy.com research, which I look forward to.

There are plenty of dinky di mates to make you feel at home and lots of friendly folk for all over the world to help break down brickwalls and locate elusive rellies.
    Good ;uck with your research.
Sandra and her spectacled Aussie aura
