Hello,
Not been on here for a long time just couldn't find anything at all so had a break. Hope someone will be able to help me with this though...
Trying to find the birth or baptism of GEORGE HILLIER - lived in WOODBOROUGH - wife KEZIAH died 1841 after giving birth to Thomas ( my GG grandad) - GEORGE then ended up in Devizes workhouse with his 2 young sons WILLIAM & THOMAS but he died with affirmation of the chest in 1847/8 I have the cert from the Wiltshire history centre. I cannot find where or when GEORGE was actually born or who his parents were. I did contact NIMROD who were very helpful and gave me 1791 birth in WILCOT with parents WILLIAM & MARY of WEST STOWELL but I just don't want to take this as definate and end up following the wrong family down the line. GEORGE's death cert states he was approx 52/3 when he died but that would make his birth round about 1796...
I just can't seem to find any birth/baptism for GEORGE or where WILLIAM & MARY came from - their births or marriage info. NIMROD did say however the WILLIAM & MARY they found were living in WILCOT but I'm just not sure.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Thankyou

If a birth cert. states approx. & there
was no-one there to be definite. You have several years to play with. He may have not looked his age at death. Children probably wouldn't know.Last edited by Waitabit; 04-02-2012 at 9:22 AM. Reason: Add a bit

Perhaps you can look up his Army history & find a contact in his Family to assist?
