That's a good idea. Ancestry also usually offer a two week trial. However, if you do sign up for a trial, since they insist on your credit/debit card details, if you decide not to go with them then make sure you cancel before the end of the trial period, or they will automatically assume you wish to remain with them and they will take a payment from your card.

The census data for you.
1871: RG10; Piece: 1127; Folio: 52; Page: 18
Chancey Court, Portsea, Portsmouth
PERRING, William, head, 26, labourer, Castle Cary
PERRING, Charlotte, wife, 26, Castle Cary
PERRING, Eli, son, 7, ?
PERRING, Ellen, dau, 3, Aldershot
PERRING, Emily, dau, 1, Landford, Hampshire
1881: RG11; Piece: 4469; Folio: 20; Page: 13
15 Well Heads, Thornton, Yorkshire
THOMAS, William, head, 32, general laborer, Castlecary Somerset
Charlotta, wife, 35, Castlecary Somerset
Ellen, dau, 14, Portsmouth Hampshire
Emily, dau, 11, Portsmouth Hampshire
Rose Ann, dau, 9, Portsmouth Hampshire

Charlie, son, 5, Huddersfield Yorkshire
John, son, 1, Denholme Yorkshire
WHITAKER, Frank, lodger, 35, stone miner
SMITH, Henry, lodger, 30, stone miner
Note: although the surname is recorded as THOMAS, I reckon PERRING was missed off for some reason and William's middle name Thomas was recorded as the surname by mistake. The parents and children appear to more or less match with the 1871 and 1891 census, apart from the variation in the age of the parents that is.
1891: Piece: 3551 Folio: 62 Page: 6
Wood Hut, Diggle Bridge, Saddleworth, Diggle, Yorkshire
PERRING, Wm, head, 39, general labourer, Somersetshire
PERRING, Charlotte, wife, 40, Somersetshire

PERRING, John, son, 11, Denham Yorkshire
PERRING, Polly, dau, 9, Smeeton Yorkshire
PERRING, Louisa, dau, 3, Preston Lancashire

There are these PERRING entries on the New Zealand BDM.
Death
1907/9823 Perring Charlotte 60Y
Death
1923/2977 Perring William 70Y
Marriage
1912/3199 William Perring to Elizabeth Ann Cox
Marriage
1908/4449 Louisa Perring to Charles Bertie Fittes
Marriage
1914/1544 Eliza Mary Perring to Henry Harley
One of the trees on Ancestry notes a divorce (for adultery) between Charles Bertie Fittes and Louisa on 26 July 1932 at Wellington.
They could be your PERRING's but as they are just names in an index, you would need the certificates or information from other sources to verify them as yours.

Hank, I've been meaning to ask about this. Looking at marriage in the index...
Marriages Mar 1892 Saddleworth 9a 380
Checkley Samuel
HOLT Maria Ann
Lawton Albert
Perring Rose
How certain are you that Rose married Albert Lawton rather than Samuel Checkley. It's just I've had no luck so far finding an Albert and Rose in the census (although they could have emigrated as you suspect.) However, I did come across a Rose CHECKLEY in the 1901 census born abt 1872 in Portsmouth, married with children, although the husband was not present.
Edit: I just went onto the Lancashire BMD site and choosing one of the names of the children from the 1901 census, Samuel Checkley born abt 1894 in Lancashire, it seems his mum's maiden name is PERRING.
This is the entry from the Lancashire BMD
Birth 1893
CHECKLEY Samuel Uppermill, Saddleworth Oldham PERRING

I'm being dim as it has only just clicked that Saddleworth is on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. The marriage is on the Lancashire BMD site. Rose Perring did marry Samuel Checkley

Oh, I do wish it were in pair order; that would make life easier. However, just to make it difficult for us, the people are listed in no particular order. In fact, it is not possible for sites such as FreeBMD to know who married whom, but the reason for this would take some time to explain. I can find something that explains this if you wish to know more.
So, when faced with a list of four or more potential spouses, we often have to employ other means to find out who married whom within that list, such as buying the certificate, finding the entry in a parish marriage register, looking in the census, or searching elsewhere (i.e the Lancashire BMD.)
In a nutshell. with respect to marriages listed in the GRO indexes, before 1912 you don't know who married whom from the list of potential spouses. From March 1912, you do know who the spouse is since the surname of the spouse is stated.

So you can see too.
1901: Piece: 3297 Folio: 135 Page: 45 cCrown copyright, care of the TNA)
6 Rosebery Street, Stockport, Cheshire
CHECKLEY, Rose, head, married, 29, Portsmouth
CHECKLEY, Jane, dua, 17, Card Board Box Maker Batsley Nr Cardiff Gamorganshire
CHECKLEY, Samual, son, 7 Heggle?? Lancashire
CHECKLEY, William, son, 6, Heggle?? Lancashire
CHECKLEY, Susie M, dua, 4 Greenfield Lancashire
CHECKLEY, Herbert, son, 2 Greenfield Lancashire
CHECKLEY, Florence, son, 11 mos, Greenfield Lancashire
TURNER, Philip, boarder, 35, labourer on rail road, Fairfourt Cheshire
NOTE: I imagine Jane CHECKLEY is Samuel's daughter by a previous marriage, although this would have to be checked.
I haven't found Rose and her family in the 1911 census yet but I must nip off for a while. Perhaps someone else can find them in the meantime.
