    Default Memory Lane

I came across this website today:

    https://www.memorylanehf.oddquine.co.uk/

which is useful for filling in some background to life during WWII in England.

I read the food rations page and it appears that we ate the equivalent of about 2 weeks rations for our scrambled egg breakfast today!!

    Regards,

    maggie

If you have the means to download it, the second episode of the Story of British Pathé is still available on the BBC iPlayer site. This dealt in particular with the WW2 period. Quite interesting, I thought.

It touched very briefly on some interesting areas such as a sort of 'false memory syndrome' (best phrase I can think of offhand) whereby many people's recollections of the war tended to be highly coloured by their memory of the newsreel version of events.
