thanks again Peter, thats just brilliant. will you know if i am able to purchase a certificate from 1875 as that website only goes to 1922?
You need to print this form, fill it in and send it off.

Payment is a pain because for most people this side of the Irish sea it means writing down credit card details and nobody likes doing that. Personally I'd be tempted to just put a €10 note in the envelope and then see what happens

    hello
ive no info to add but
if you are requesting a birth marriage death and have the event-year-area-volume-page no,s the cost is 4 euros for a photo copy of the actuall register .
it costs an extra 2 euros to do a search over a given time and area for a BMD
if an unusual name they will do all ireland search 2 euros
if as some american cousins your tryin to find your grandfather or gt grandfathers birth to get an irish passport its 10 euros for the cert to be written out and the form stamped legaly .
roscommon gro is the one to contact theres no need to fill out form from above post for a genealogy query just give as much info as possible
you may indeed post euros (cash) but not stg
i usually round up to nearest fiver to allow for a search and postage
    goodluck
