    Hi John
Your message doesn't really give us any info to work on and need first names.
    Have a look at RG09 Piece:391 Folio:44 Pg:31 on the 1861 census

Parish Chest have resources on Thames Watermen and Lightermen. See https://www.parishchest.com/index.php...rmen&Submit=GO

Also see this London Metropolitan Archives information leaflet

Simply Googling for "Watermen and Lightermen" throws up many references

    Hi John

It is some years since I researched the maternal side of my family. However, one of my GGGrandmothers was an Ada Vincent, father John Vincent - Lighterman - Born St Georges in the East c.1831. In 1871 the family were living at Temperance Cottage 177 North Street, Limehouse. She married William Chambers - Lighterman, on 24 March 1888. From this union my Grandmother Amy Chambers was born.

Hi Martin, Well we possibly have a match then !
I have an Ada Vincent in my tree (my gt grand aunt), with a father John (A) Vincent b. 1834 (my 2 x gt Grandfather)
Funny enough I went to the cemetery yesterday were John Vincent was buried to see if there is anything there,,,,,,but we were beaten away by the crowds ! (mothers day)
    So I will revist asap.
My Nan was a Vincent, so that's were I join the Vincent line.
    Nice to hear from you.
    Kind regards....John
