    Hi
    My grandmother married Joseph Coote 1926 at St George Hanover Square,London

    My Father didnt have much to do with his parents hence why i dont know very much about his mother's side the family

    He was always lead to beleive Florence parents both died young and the 2 girls was put into a convent weather this is true i dont know,the 2 girls we beleive was Jewish

    Olliecat, I too saw that death and wondered if Phoebe Annie was never married. There is a Florence Marshall born 1901, Lambeth, as a scholar in the Lambeth Union Workhouse School.

    Thats the only death i could find for Phoebe as well...Clearly states on my grandmother birth cert....mother Phoebe Gardiner nee Marshall but now making me wonder if they was ever married

    Finally found him in the 1911 census,thanks to looking at someone elses post,he was under H C Gardiner,but still cannot find him in other census other than 1901,bangs head against wall,in the 1911 he is classed as widowed and ages 58 but put that he had been married 14 years,then he had crossed it out,so still stuck on IF he ever did get married

    He is a tricky man to find as my grandmother was always lead to believe that her parents died young,yes her mother did,but obv he was still alive,the change of name theory could be right,so many possiblitlies
