Default British Army Service Records 1760-1913

British Army Service Records 1760-1913 look-ups???

I am not sure if this is the correct area or not, but I am hoping some kind soul could do a look up for me against the above records for a Samuel Bryan born 1782, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

I am enquiring as I have a brickwall to do with my great grandfather and great, great grandfather - both of the same name - Samuel Bryan.....both of them I believed served in the Army.

    With kind regards

    Richard

The terms and conditions of Findmypast do not permit lookups. However, pay as you go access only costs a few pounds. Access is free at the National Archives and certain other venues.

The record you want is indexed in the National Archives catalogue

    SAMUEL BRYAN
    Born SANDYACRE, Nottinghamshire
    Served in 1st Foot Guards
    Discharged aged 37
    Covering dates 1800-1818

Thank you all for your help....although, the dates etc make it sound if it is the right person, but I have always been lead to believe that he was a senior officer....so, I shall have to do some more research..hehe...

If you think he may have been an officer, check the Army Lists. Officers aren't included in WO 97 (mentioned above).
