Revisiting this thread, I have found a marriage between George Cooksey and Jane McLeod at Whitechapel St Mary on 20th July 1834.
Now, Amelia regularly gives her place of birth as Bethnal Green and Shoreditch on her census returns from 1871 to 1891.
Bethnal Green & Shoreditch are in spitting distance of Whitechapel unless I'm mistaken?
Therefore, George & Jane could be candidates for Amelia's parents?

There are the following baptisms which are possibly Amelia's siblings:
John Cooksey
12 Jul 1835
George Cooksey, Jane Cooksey
St Andrew Holborn City of London
Emma Cooksey
11 Feb 1838
George Cooksey, Jane Cooksey
St Andrew Holborn City of London
Robert Angus Cooksey
19 May 1839
George Cooksey, Jane Cooksey
St Andrew Holborn City of London
Richard Cooksey
22 Aug 1841
George Cooksey, Jane Cooksey
St Andrew Holborn City of London
William Thomas Cooksey
25 Feb 1844
George Cooksey, Jane Cooksey
St Andrew Holborn, City of London
The only thing is that George is a painter not a blacksmith but I wonder if Amelia made up her father's occupation on the marriage certificate.

Please can someone have a look over this thread as I haven't got any further since I started it and a fresh pair of eyes might be what it takes to knock down this brickwall!

Hi, I've been away for quite a while, but have just re-read through this thread again. I think the LMA records really need to be looked at just in case there is valuable information amongst them.
