Default Probably a stupid question but how do I go?

Have a possible marriage - Apr-Jun 1910, Newton Abbot, Devon, vol. 5b page 261. Only name on the page is the bride. How do I find the groom?

How closely related are they to you? Ordering the certificate is an option.

The answer is James Pike Sawyer. (Found it on FMP's new 'Marriage Match'.)

FreeBMD had given the page wrongly as 251.

Great - thanks Thomasin - I'll now ask my contact if this is correct.

When using FreeBMD, always click on the specs next to a listing to view the original page, so you can see for yourself! If you think the page number has been wrongly transcribed, you can then search by volume and page number for a missing partner.

    See the 1911 Census (RG14PN12770 RG78PN734 RD272 SD6 ED11 SN393) for this family

The correct reference (FreeBMD) should be:

    Marriages Jun 1910
    SAWYER James Pike - Newton A. 5b 261

Page number 261 (clear on the second scan) - Correction sent

My contact has been speaking to a descendant of another sibling [who was also posing a bit of a problem, which has since been cleaned up, somewhat] and has confirmed the above [as well as Thomasin's finding]

I am very grateful for the help of all on this thread.
