Or it could be her mother's maiden name.....
BTW There were nearly 600 occurrences of the forename Asenath (and variants) in the 1881 census. It seems to have been particularly popular in the west country.

Aseneth as spelt as a first name, is very popular throughout census in many counties.
pronounced Ar see neth or nath.
In the Bible she was Joseph's Egyptian wife.

I think Asenath Harriet Shelley could be Annette b 1874. She has her mother's name Harriet as 2nd name.

I'll try to find her in 1901.
