My great-grandfather ran a succesful corkmaking business in London roughly between the years 1898-1902 and two of his contracts were with the LCC (London County Council) and the Sarsons vinegar people.
Does anybody know if either of them may have maintained archives of such contracts and how do I go about sleutherising them?
Thanks

Business contract archives?

Sarsons now belong to Premier Foods (via Cross & Blackwell and Nestlé), whose HQ is in St Albans. If you google their details, it pops up with a contact button and telephone number. They could well have an archives for Sarsons.

The first place to look for business records is the National Register of Archives
https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/nra/default.asp
Enter Sarson as the corporate name.
LCC records are at the LMA and their catalogue is online here
Records involving money usually have a good chance of survival!

Thanks Peter for the suggested links.
Unfortunately NRA's records for Sarsons don't go back that far so not sure if it's there but simply just not loaded online so I think I'll try Jan's tip and contact them at St Albans.
The LMA catalogue contains zillions of reference numbers needed to click on for the LCC...an impossible task!
But thanks to both of you anyway.
Cheers
