Is this a possible for Amos Pincott as he's nowhere to be found on any of the census

Oxfordshire Criminal Records has this at the County Assizes
    Amos Pinkett
Age: 24 (this would make his birth year abt 1812 )
Date of Trial: 27 Feb 1836, Oxfordshire, England
Sentenced to Death changed to Transportation for life
Offence he was convicted of Sodomy.

thanks for all of your help. i think i have steered you wrong! very sorry!
not sure if we are on the right track for my pincotts, as i am looking at all of my notes and find in direct line back: luke, ( my g-grfather) b. 1851 in wootton bassett. his parents were john pincott, b.1817 in wootton bassett, and hannah, b.1817 or 1819 in little coxwell berks. little coxwell berks is now just ouside of faringdon oxfordshire, as the county boundaries have changed several times through the years. this is the latest definate info i can find on my branch.

in the 1851 cencus there is a william pincott b. 1775 faringdon, living in coxwell rd., he is a ag. lab
also in same cencus we have elinor pincott, living at gt. faringdon, b.1787 in ireland, not sure if they are connected to each other

then in 1841 cencus we have, residing in upper greenhill ( between wootton bassett and swindon) a john pincott b. 1814 ag. lab, married to hannah b.1816, 2 children ann, aged 3, and william, aged 1

so i am not certain that my branch come directly from letitia's branch after all-- perhaps there were 2 families in wootton bassett?

cheers sandy- you've got back much farther than i did! so i am guessing that they were in the area before the railways, ag. labbing, but changed over to the railway as the pay was better?

it does not appear then, that there is any connection to the pincotts who i thought must be the link ( letitia and husband)

does the marriage cert say where hannah taylor and martha cook were born? ( wot a cheek, asking you for even more info!)

again, thanks very much for all of your help. wouldn't it be easier if we could just zap back in time for a few hours, and ask them face to face!
