    Default Marriage look-up - Stephen Vanstone 1846

I wonder if anybody can help here?

Stephen Vanstone (b 1 April 1810, Sheepwash) married Ann in the March quarter 1846.

The problem is that of the 4 marriages in Holsworthy, Volume 9 page 381 EVERY female is called Ann!
    Ann Hill
    Ann Horne
    Ann Lewis
    Ann Pillifant
Which one is the wife of Stephen Vanstone?

I don't really want to buy 4 certificates in order to find which is which.

So, does anyone have any clues?

    Cheers,

    Kevin

    You don't.

You only need one name (in this case, the groom) to order the certificate. Provide the year, quarter, volume and page numbers and the GRO will be able to send you the correct certificate.

Jan is right of course, and I'm sure you'll want to buy that certificate. There IS also a possible clue on IGI though, I noticed Ann gave Hatherleigh as her birthplace in 1881:

Ann PILLIVANT bap 18 Feb 1813 Hatherleigh, Devon. Parents William PILLIVANT and Susanna.
