I have been blessed with connecting with a cousin of my wife. She is of Irish- Austrian background.
The ancestor came from Austia in the late 1890's. He has the same given name as his father and was born around 1875. When he arrived in Ireland he was in the Merchant Navy - Austrian, we believe.
How can we follow him back in time - including his stint in the Merchant Navy and his own particular ancestry.
Thanks for any help
Colin

Just bumping this up - does anyone have any ideas that I, being in Canada, can follow up on?
