Can anyone tell me what medals (if any) a Home Guard soldier would have been entitled to at the war's end? My grandfather served in the Essex Home Guard between 1942 and 1944.
Thanks,
Paul

Home Guard members were eligible for the Defence Medal. The qualifying conditions were three year's service between May 1940 and 31 December 1944.
