Hi Colin
Ferdinand Darrer was my great-grandfather. My father and your wife are therefore first cousins. My father, Donal Crawley (his mother was Ellen Darrer) knew Ferdinand as he lived with their family in Bangor after Mary McCusker died. Ferdinand is buried in Bangor, Co. Down. We have quite a lot of information including some from Austria on Ferdinand and the Darrers. My father had often spoken of his Aunty Pat (your wife's mother) who died leaving children at a young age. I had always felt very sad that the connection had been lost and was overjoyed to find your posts on this website.
