    because whoever gave the information was telling them what s/he had been told, or thought they had been told. The information on a certificate is only ever as good as the informant's knowledge - who was the informant?
    Sadly, our dear friend Ann (alias Ladkyis) passed away on Thursday, 26th. December, 2019.

    The informant was Edward Wall, who was Grace May's brother.

    I've just managed to find the marriage certificate for Alfred & Grace which confirms that I have the right Alfred as he gives his parent's names as Thomas William Witherell and Amelia Stratford.
