Default St Helier birth Look up, please.

I'm searching for a birth record for Henry Francis (McCormick)
    B: May 10, 1864 St. Helier
McCormick may not be the listed name as he may have been illegitimate.
Thanks so much for any help.

    Thank you very much, Stewart.
I had a feeling this is what you would find. Do you know if it is possible to order a birth certificate, even though he was illegitimate?
Do you go to the archives regularly? Would you mind looking up a death record for me? John William Dunstan and his wife Elizabeth (nee Isherwood) between 1891-1895 St Helier, according to family "legend" they died about the same time. Sorry I can't narrow the time down.
I really, really appreciate your help!

    Hi Laura

Yes, you can still get a certifictae even though he was illegitimate. They cost £20 and can be obtained from:

    Office of the Superintendent Registrar
    10 Royal Square
    St. Helier
    Jersey
    JE2 4WA

As regards the deaths of JWD and ED, I cannot see any Dunstan deaths in St Helier in the time span you quoted. However I can see the following in St Saviour's:

John Dunstan, St Saviour Deaths, Sept 1886 to Jun 1893, page 229.
Elizabeth Maria Dunstan, St Saviour Deaths, Mar 1907 to Oct 1914, page 350.

If you can tell me a little more about these two I'll go and look at the certificates to make sure they are the right people.

I live a couple of miles from the Archive and pass it each day!

PS What part of Canada are you from?

    Ok,

John William Dunstan b: Sept 23, 1858 St Heilier
(parents Henry Dunstan and Jane Bisson)

Elizabeth Sarah Isherwood b: 27 July 1848 St Helier
(parents William Isherwood and Matilda Campbell Brooks)

Married 7 Sept, 1880 @ St Luke, Jersey, CI

Had two sons (that I know of):
John A.F. Dunstan b 24 Feb, 1884 St Martin ( my great grandfather)
    William E. Dunstan b: < 1887> St Helier

I have them all listed in 1891 census at St Helier, also J W D ‘s father, Henry, is with them.

According to my great uncle, he remembers his dad (J.A.F Dunstan) was orphaned when he was 9 or so.
So that is where I got the date range from, but maybe should try later date? 1895-1901? Or maybe they died going to, or in, Guernsey?

In 1901 census J.A.F. Dunstan and grandfather Henry are living in St Peter Port, Gurernsey.

The John Dunstan you found fits the time frame,
I’m not sure as to Elizabeth, because her middle name was Sarah, what do you think?

Hope this isn’t information overload, : ) I live in southern Alberta

Back to the drawing board regarding the two deaths. The John Dunstan I gave you died Jan 1890 to clearly is not your man. I need to look again.
