The NA Catalogue does list the Attestation papers for a John Weston who looks as if he could be your man:

When someone enlisted in the armed forces a series of questions were asked - name, age, birthplace, occupation, whether married, whether an apprentice, term willing to serve, etc, etc. The recruit then declared the answers to be true. Further information can be found on this research guide - Royal Marines: other ranks service records.

Here's an answer you can use again and again.

Martin provided this National Archives catalogue reference -

    https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/c...accessmethod=0

Follow that through to the catalogue entry and then go to the top level catalogue entry for the series ie look at the line that reads "ADM 157 Admiralty: Royal Marines: Attestation Forms" and click on "ADM 157"

Then select the Full Details tab and you should be here -

    https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/c...llDetails=True

Scroll down the page and read the useful information about the series.

[This approach works for other series as well]
