    Hello lynmick,

The village is Ruscombe and the Parish Church is dedicated to St James.

Have a look at berkshirehistory.com/churches/ruscombe.html (put www. in front) and you will be able to see a photograph of it.

    Default Emmanuel Thomas SLADE

    Further to above:

1841 census of Laleham, Middlesex (HO107/718/9, folio 10, page 11):

    Elizh SLADE 41
    Emma do 17
    Mary do 13
    Emanuel do 11
    Sally BENNETT? 4

All born out of county. Could she have upped and left Emanuel snr, as there is an Emanuel SLADE, aged 50 in the 1841 census of Ruscombe.
