    Default F Cook & D Salter family Taree/Old Bar

For those interested in my family tree.

My mum Doris Frances Salter (Frances Doris Salter) died in a car accident on the 24th October 1969 on the Old Bar Road near Metz Road. I turned 5yo on the 8th December 1969.

My dad Frederick Joseph Bruyn Cook never re-married and died of cancer in 1987.

Doris and Frederick Cook were married in 1949 and lost the first 4 of their children (first and 4th were 4 years apart to the day). The 7th January will be 60 years for the first and 56 years for the fourth.

It was researching these children (I didn't know how many, their names or dates, just that I had some that died) in my own immediate family and locating their graves that started me on the path of family history.

On the 7th Jan 2010, I am puting up a headstone at their graves in the Dawson River Cemetery.

    The headstone reads as follows

    "quote"

    Rosebuds in Heaven

    Doris Frances
    7-1-1950 (still)

    Frederick Francis
    20-10-1950 (6hrs)

    Darrell Leonard
    31-12-1952 1-1-1953 (12 hrs)

    Raymond Michael
    6-1-1954 7-1-1954 (21 hrs)

    Children of F & D Cook
    (plots N 14 & 15)

    Erected 7-1-2010 Wayne Cook (sibling)

    "end quote"

They may be gone but they are not forgotten.

Wayne (the youngest of their siblings)

    Oh Wayne,

What can one say to this? Good on you for erecting the headstone. This will be a most satisfying (albeit very sad) moment for you.

    Thanks Spison,

My parents adopted a child after these 4 and then had 4 natural (me being the last). I won't name any as they are all still alive.

I think that will be a wonderful memorial to your siblings.

On the 7th Jan 2010 I erected a headstone for them. Sorry I had a relationship split a couple of months later and have lost most of my Family History research (all my files of the computer were kept or whatever by my ex) and only just remembered my password for here.
