Hi Patrisia,
Thank you so much for your help. As we both live in Wales can I ask if you have any connections with areas of Derbyshire. I have had a problem with my Kemp line for about 20 years. Great grandmother Hannah Kemp having been born in Manchester in 1848, and having the exact address, I tried for the 1851 census for Manchester. It does not exist having suffered damage. So until I tried ancestry for 1871 at Rotherham, where they eventually settled ,I had no real proof that I had the right line.
The 1871 entry proved the line so since last week I have been trying other angles. Anyway, not to bore you, you have helped considerably.
Best wishes from a sunny Ebbw Vale, Roy White

Glad to have been of help Roy,
My maternal line through my grandmother Kate CARRINGTON, originates in Smalley, DBY. So I know a little of the surrounding areas but not that much.
Cheers
