Default Baker, James, born Fifield 1800-1

Have come up against a blank wall with this forebear. His name on his son's wedding certificate is given as Joseph and certainly there is a Joseph born around the same time, but with a completely different family (which does not include James's son William from whom I am decended). There are a great number of Bakers in this area and I may be on a hiding to nothing, but if anyone has any info I would be very grateful.
