I am searching for information on Albert Ezard. The information I have is:
Born: approx 1869 in Manchester England
Immigrated to United States: approx 1887
Married to: Abbie
Resided in: Lancaster County Pennsylvania United States 1910
I know that he was associated with the Salvation Army. Family stories say he was sent from England by William Booth to start the Salvation Army here in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
Any information is welcome.
Thank you.

Rather than leave this thread in the Surname Interests forum - where it would be closed - I have moved it to the Manchester forum section, where hopefully other members may be able to assist in tracing Albert.

The only one that fits appears to be 10 years later. Did you get the birth year right?

He is on the 1920 US census, b abt 1875, but I don't have access to that. Maybe someone else can assist.

He is on the 1930 census born 1875, as you say, but in 1910 he is said to be born 1869, with year of immigration 1894.
Most EZARD seem to come from Yorkshire, not Lancashire. Those found in Manchester in 1871 were born in East Yorkshire (Filey, Scarborough, etc.), and look like they crossed the Pennines only shortly before that.
There's a birth in Scarborough RD for an Albert EZARD in Mar Qtr 1868, but I haven’t yet found him in the census. Could it be that the Albert who emigrated was brought up in Manchester but was born in Yorkshire?

The first Marriage in Lancashire is in 1871 and it`s in Manchester, so I think Kerrywood might have it right regarding maybe Albert was born Yorkshire and moved as a baby....and the 1868 Scarborough birth Michael has found looks a likely research poser for you now ....allan
