I hope someone can help!
On the 1844 Tithe Commutation document & map for Shrivenham
it says William Moxham lived at a Homestead on the West end of Shrivenham rented from "Faringdon Poor" and also the the poor ground approx 3 acres close to the house.
Poor`s ground was dedicated to the upkeep of the people who were sent to Faringdon Union and the rent William paid went to that fund.
He also had three fields rented from Lord Barrington (The Lord of the Manor of Beckett who owned most of Shrivenham) on the S. east side of the village amounting to about 16 acres, one of these fields had gained the name "Moxham`s Corner" so maybe he left his mark in the village in some way.
I would like some more information about the Moxham`s in Shrivenham, or if there are any other records that are available about Shrivenham.
