I couldn't fail to notice the village of Tempsford in the title.

I can't add anything about the research, but I did live in the village for a time as a teenager, right opposite the churchyard in the Wheatsheaf pub.

It's a little bit of a strange village, I lived in what is known for obvious reasons as "Church End" and the other quite separate part of the village is "Langford End"

The modern dual carriage way A1 Splits the two halves but they are still about 3/4 mile apart and always were. The original Great North Road as it was called then ran through Church End.

Church End is the original and Lanford End developed when the railway line was built about 1863.

There is a lot of history in the surrounding fields and a time-line of the village can be found here. https://www.galaxy.bedfordshire.gov.u...d_timeline.htm

About 30 years ago I found Elizabethan and even Roman coins in the fields.
