    Smile CLARA COLTMAN

Could anybody help me please. I know Clara Coltman was born in Barkby Leicestershire in 1806. As far as I can see there were Two Coltman brothers Edward and James who both married Parker sisters Mary and Elizabeth in Thurmaston North End Barkby on 11 August 1804. Either of this pair could be the parents of Clara, but I can't seem to find anything to work with. Thankyou Lyn

Default If you enjoy a good read ...

... Clara married this chap - David Dennant

and was responsible for this lot

Caution - all Lyn's threads are highly addictive.

Default Let's get the ball rolling

David Dennant, a tailor, married Clara Coltman in Southwark in Feb 1828

She is easily found on the 1881 census - a widow (free for all to view)

What else can you tell us Lyn, how did you get back to the Parkers?

I think Lyn may have found them on Pallots marriage index.

    Edward Coltman married Mary Parker
    James Coltman married Elizabeth Parker

    I found them on A*

Yes, Thats where I found them, but can find nothing else!! I am assuming that one of this couple is Clara's parents, but have only gone on the census where she says she was born in Barkby about 1806.

Clara and David tied the knot 2nd February 1828 - by Banns St. George the Martyr - Southwark.

The witnesses were Edward Heneage Coltman and Mar**(could be Martha) Norris.

A couple more names to work with, the image is on A*

Edward H Coltman could be Claras father, but he married Mary Parker. She may have died but cannot find her death anywhere.I have found a Elizabeth Coltman living in Greenwich in the 1841 census with a Samuel and Charles 16 and 18. This could also be Claras mother, but Elizabeth married James Coltman.

I can't find anything to say Clara was baptised at the moment, but am I right in thinking thaty most people were then?
