    Default A Hotel in 1881

The 1881 census shows my G-grandmother working as a sevant [aged 21] under the turelage of her 'aunt' [Isuspect]. The location was 60 Chapel Street,{Madron] Penzance, Cornwall. Iy would appear to ne a large hotel as that census lists 27 people there aged 17-48 years and I belive all were employees of some sort.

Any information this establishment would be appreciated

From the kind volunteers who have transcribed the 1871 census for the Cornwall Online Census Project, it is found on this 1871 listing when it was called the Union Hotel, proprietor William Longhurst:

Hi Colin, so pleased for you, if you google Historic Chapel Street Penzance, there is a photograph and a short history of it.

    Best regards
