One extra thing to add is that the marriage was by licence and they were both of the parish of St Owen, Hereford (source Herefordshire Marriage Index).

There are 2 male SAINT marriages at Hereford St Peter:

15 Nov 1821 James SAINT & Ellen BAILEY
5 July 1819 Thomas SAINT & Susannah CLARKE

Thank you for that information. Thomas, a brick maker, and Susannah were my great great grandparents.Poor Susannah died in childbirth in 1841 and Thomas died two years later of TB in Hereford workhouse. Their daughter Mary, my great grandmother was therefore an orphan in 1843 when her father died. I wondered if she might have therefore had a spell in the workhouse but there are no surviving records. She may have been looked after by her older brother John who with his second wife ended up in Tipton where Mary married my notorious great grandfather William Hall. He was dismissed from the Birmingham Police Force for immoral behaviour. This included getting a young girl pregnant and followed events such as not being at his post when he should have been because he spent twenty minutes with a prostitute in a WC, and being drunk on duty.
Mary became a very capable and long suffering wife and mother in law I feel. When my grandfather Evan Charles Voyce, a jeweller, died in 1904 it was she who registered his death not his widow Susannah who was Mary's daughter.

Did Margaret have a sister Elizabeth? There is a marriage on 20 May 1819 at Hereford St Owen of an Elizabeth SAINT to a William BEVAN.

There are also these SAINT burials on the FHS Burials Index - don't know if you already have them but in case not:

22 October 1823 at Hereford St Owen William SAINT, aged 61, St Owens Gate Without
17 May 1828 at Hereford St Peter Eliza SAINT, aged 11 months, St Owens St
12 June 1828 at Hereford St Peter Mary Ann SAINT, aged 6, St Owens St

    Hi,
Yes Margaret did have a sister Elizabeth but I have never been able to trace her. So that could well be her marriage. Thank you for that. She was christened at All Saints Hereford on 2 Oct 1796.
So William c 1759-Oct 1823 married Ann 1760 both probably born and married in America because as you know Margaret was born there and married Job Blick at St Peter's, Hereford on 11 Dec 1811. Also William and Ann had Ann bap 6 May 1794, Thomas my gggrandfather born 1798 and James 1800. I can't find baptisms for either of them. Thomas is only in the 1841 census because he died in 1843 but James lived until 1877 and was a master baker in Hereford. He married twice and there is much documentation about his descendants. I've got all this on Ancestry in the Voyce family tree should you be able to access that.
Re the list of burials I think you have found some I don't have William aged 61, I have, also Ann aged 16, she was the first child of Thomas and Susannah. And I suspect Thomas aged 10 is also their child. I Eliza might be the daughter of James and his first wife Ellen Bailey, married in 1821.Of Mary Ann I have no idea. My burial records came from the National Burial index so when you say these that you have found come from the FHS do you mean Hereford Family History Society? thank you very much for your help with this.
I have had a researcher trying to find why William and Ann came to England circa 1791. I wondered if he might have been a late Loyalist but my researcher could find no record of him in compensation or pensions lists. Intriguingly I understand there is a 1783 record of a William Saint born in 1759 in Williamsburg who was a boot a scabbard maker to a foot regiment in the War of Independence. Since my William Saint was a shoe maker in Hereford it just could be him but I don't think I shall ever know for sure.
    Thanks again,
    Janet
