The page number for one of the females is probably wrong. This section of the marriage index has been retyped by the GRO. A check of the images for each female entry shows that FreeBMD's transcription is correct, so the error was presumably in the GRO's retyping.

Regardless of that error (whatever it may be), this group of index references doesn't look encouraging for the marriage of Peter O'HENNESSEY to a Charlotte, if indeed his wife was a Charlotte, which I believe is as yet unknown?

I'd suggest you order a birth certificate for one of Peter's children born after 1837, if you can find a reference, as this will give you the mother's former name. Then look for the marriage.

To all those who helped on this thread you may have seen a post by Grandad. We have been in direct contact and confirmed that Eliza's father is 2xGt Grandfather to both of us. Thanks all for your help. I just gained a live rellie.

    Deaths
    Dec Qtr 1850
    O'HENNESSY Charlotte Camberwell 4 54
    O'HENNESSY Charlotte Camberwell 4 55
There is no corresponding birth record although there is a Charlotte McLaren ref 4/59

The death certificate does not mention a birth merely a fever for 3 days

    Looks like a duplicate entry

Taking the assumption that they were not married I looked for a Charlotte birth in Camberwell at the right time

    Births Dec 1850
    McLaren Charlotte Camberwell 4 59

    Then these

    Births Dec 1849
    MCLAREN Joseph Newington 4 402

    Births Sep 1842
McLaren William Henry West London 2 219

Not sure it proves anything yet but it has some possibilities
Out of time right now - shades of John Pike and Fanny Cable I think. Cannot be two in the same family. Can there ?

Can a moderator now close this thread and point to the new query he raised on the same family. Do babies appear by magic. Thanks
