I think I've found them on the 1891 census. On the image, Lilly's age looks like a 1, followed by a big dot. Someone has stroked this out, then written 10 just to the right of it, so indexed on Anc as 10 years old.

Thomas Davis, head, m, 27, glass blower, b. Wks, Birmingham
Jane Davis, wife, m, 25, press cutter mach, b. ditto
George Davis, son, 6, b. ditto
    (next page -page 24)
Lilly Davis, dau, s, 10, b. Wks, Birmingham
Florrie Mellership, niece, s, 7, b. ditto (may be Millership)

    Warstone Lane, 10 Warstone Ter.
    Registration district: Birmingham
    Sub-registration district: Lady Wood
    Class: RG12; Piece: 2367; Folio 80; Page 23 & 24

And there's even a niece present to help track the family!

    Hi Adele,

I think you could well be right.

It appears that Warstone Lane and New Spring Street are opposite each other, and 2 streets away is the church of St Peter's (which thanks to Google Streetview I can see :P )

Sorry to dig this up, but I wonder if anyone can help me find Thomas DAVIS and Jane DAVIS in either the 1901 or 1911 census records :/

As hard as I try I can't find any members of the family listed above, which are correct, apart from Lily who in 1911 is married to James Pitt (which is correct).

George Pitt for instance is missing, along with the parents.

    Hi Katie,

Thanks for all the detailed input. I have gone over everything and you appear to be pretty much bang on!

I had gone to the point that something happened to Thomas DAVID, but I really don't know how you managed to link everything together.

I couldn't find them 1901 so I looked for George Davis on the 1911 and worked back, luckily he was still at home
