    Default Tracing people in Canada

I wonder if you can help

I am trying to trace my family in Canada. They went out to Toronto in around about 1880/5. Is there any way of getting information about them, either through Immigration records, or through the Canadian Census for that time.

Automated Genealogy has a free census transcription site that has the 1901 and 1911 censuses available at https://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html

Other useful locations are via the Canada collections site as https://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/a...t/index-e.html

Thank you so much for the information Gerald. Do you know if the 1891 census is available also?

Here's a more up to date page from the same website, which includes the 1891 census:

Are there any census later than 1911 available in Canada?

Irene, the 1916 census is now available but it was only for the three prairie provinces: Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

    Thanks for your reply Beejay.
I am trying to find a distant family member who was sent to Canada, I think Toronto. He was 13 years old and he sailed on the SS Corinthian in March 1913. He was last heard of in 1942, living in Moutray St. Toronto.
I know it is a long shot, but worth a try!

Why don't you start a fresh thread, give us the details & we'll have a look?
