    Default Birth records of Canada

Can anyone advise me as to whether its possible to view the birth records of people born in the 1880's?

The short answer is "it depends". Who and where and when?

    Default Birth Records Canada

It depends where in Canada. The Drouin Collection of Quebec parish registers is fairly comprehensive, searchable and images of the original parish register entries may be viewed on line through Ancestry. Images of civil registers of births in Ontario are also accessible online through Ancestry. I don't have experience with records from other provinces.

    Hope this helps,

Ontario births from those dates are publicly available. Civil Registration started in 1867, so they are on microfilms deposited with the Archives of Ontario 100 years after the birth occurred. From where you are, the best bet is to try A** and SKS who may look them up for you if you don't have a sub. since A** has published scans of the microfilms and it's as good as seeing the real thing.

If you would tell us the names, we could have a look

    Jessie middle name Lydia/

Frederick William Wood born 15 Aprl 1891 York County, father Charles Wood, mother Catherine Sanderson

Children of Charles Wood and Sarah McDonald
James Wood 12 July 1875, Wellington
Charles Stuart Wood 27 Aug 1878, Wellington
James Wood 13 Feb 1881, Wellington
Edmund Henry 4 Sept 1882, Dufferin County
Mary Wood 27 Aug 1868, Wellington
John Wood 12 Oct 1870, Wellington

there is also marriage of Charles to Sarah McDonald in 1867 but no marriage for Catherine and Charles. I might have included unnecessary Sarah into the mix but there are a lot of Wood's in Ontario.

Unless you already know when the marriage took place? They give quite a lot of info on these bmd records for this time period - surprising really.
