    Default Army Discharge 1919

My granfather's Army discharge Certificate states that 'He is disembodied on 22 Mar 1919 in consequence of Demobelization'.
Can anyone tell me what is ment by 'DISEMBODIED' (Sounds very spooky!!)

Not spooky, in the event of war the Territorial Force would be embodied into the Army. And at the end of a war they would be disembodied and revert to there peace time status.

There are several different types of dicharge.
    (1) K.R. 392 para ( ) different catorgaries of medical reasons.
    (2) Discharged to Class Z army reserve
    (3) Discharged to Special reserve
    (4) Disembodied, we won't need you any more.
Usually over age or won't be fit enough to serve in a war situation.

To answer a daft question wth a daft answer, you get it by being discharged from the army.

More seriously if you know the mans name and address in WW1. Go to your local library, log on to ancestry, look in British Army Service Records for who you are after, they are known as the burnt and unburnt records. If he's not there go to British Army Pension Records, if he's not there either, then the records were destroyed during the blitz in 1940.
