Census Search - Manchester/Salford

I have a marriage certificate for my Gfather (John James Bell)and my Gmother (Hannah Lawrinson), they were married in Salford 22/10/1902. I am struggling to find any info of their parents. The details on the marriage cert are:

JOHN JAMES BELL - age 33 - occupation: Railway shunter (widower) - and he lived at 44 West Tower St, Pendleton, Salford. His father was ADAM BELL (soldier)

HANNAH LAWRINSON - age 34 - address 37 Albert Road, Whalley Range, Manchester. All other columns for Hannah on the certificate are blank.

I would really appreciate if anyone could find them on a census, which may help me to trace their parents.

Hi Joan

I have looked in the 1901 & 1891 census & so far have not found either of them.
Ancestry did however show their marriage and FreeBMD showed and entry which may be John's 1st marriage:
Marriages Sep 1896 Bell John James Leigh 8c 363 the following ladies were shown on the same page. McClintock Ann Simister Eliza

I will look a little further but do you have any idea where John was born? Did he always live around Manchester?

Well, I can see a Hannah LAWRINSON in the 1901 - age 35, born Cheshire Alversley (=Aldersey?), living in Didsbury, general serv domestic. Appears to be single.

FreeBMD has someone of that name born in Gt Boughton (which includes Aldersey) in 1849. Bit early for this Hannah, I suppose. Perhaps her mother?

...and I can also see a John Bell, shunter on railway, age 31 in Pendleton in 1901. He may be the John J Bell born Farnworth listed in the 1881 age 11. There's no Adam Bell around but it looks as if his mother had remarried.

Joan, I have found 2 boys named John Bell who are the correct age and around Manchester. Unfortunately neither are living with their parents so this may make it difficult to link them even if they are the correct ones.
