    Default Volunteering

    I have just searched the Register of Seamans Service for men that came from Cawsand in Cornwall. A lot of them had "Date of Volunteering" added to the information, and it seemed that a lot had volunteered in 1853 and 1854. Does anyone know what they volunteered for?

    Thank you Geoffers, i'm not very good with history and dates. I think they should have taught me family history at school it would have been much more meaningful.
