i wonder if anyone can help me i am trying to find out about my husbands grandmother i found her name on the 1911 cenus which had her down in a institution in fulham the address was 9 parsons green london fulham she was t4 and also found her brother and sister but cant find anything else about the place what it name was would be grateful for any help

Hello Glyn - welcome to Brit-Gen,

The Fulham Union ran a receiving home at 9 Parson's Green. This meant that children stayed here for a short period of time, until a permanent place in a home was found. Another function of the Home was to provide temporary accommodation for children who were to be placed with foster parents.

Have a read of the Workhouse website - put Fulham into the search box and it will find it.

thanks for your help went on to webb site and found out a bit my husbands grandmother was in parsons green but her brother who was only 2 was in the fulham work house
