Default LAWER - From Cornwall to Canada

    Hi,
Just wondered if anyone in Canada is researching the name Lawer who went from Newlyn, Cornwall to Canada ?between 1912 - 1920.

Am helping out a cousin (from the Lawer family), research their family.

It's probably a wild question but you never know, there may be someone.

    Thanks. Jacqui

Just browsing 'Tribal Pages' & 'A.....y' it would appear several folk of that name born in Cornwall went to Canada.

    Any names in particular?

    Hi Wendy,

Thanks for your reply. I do have a few names....

A family between 1912 - 1920: Reuben & Elizabeth Jane Lawer & their 3 sons Reuben Reginald Harris Lawer. Ernest John Harris Lawer. Charles Henry Harris Lawer (Charles Henry did come home to Cornwall after his first wife died. He had 2 daughters in Canada Joan & Barbara, Joan came to England but I believe Barbara remained in Canada). Would like though to trace Charles' 2 brothers & their families.

Just 3 other names at the moment although I believe there are more......

William Lawer B;1814 D:1896 in Ontario & his wife Ann who D:1877 Ontario.
Richard Grose Lawer who married a Jane Fraser in Ontario in 1923
Kitty Lawer who married a George Clatworthy in Toronto 1875.

I do know that the Lawer family were predominantly from the Newlyn area of Cornwall.

I see you are from Austrailia...there were Lawers that went to Australia and New Zealand as well, but thought I'd start with Canada.

    Thanks again.
    Jacqui

    Hi Jacqui,
well it's definitely your Family in Ontario. "Dave " has good info, but you may like to have a peep for yourself as there are 2 others. One Family is a mix of your names & 'others'. Thay are public trees so if you don't have An.....y sub. you can probably at least email them. If not I'll have a dash for you.

    PM on the way
