    Default Vomica Terra

    Hello,
Vomica Terra interesting words of Latin which I read in a old document about 30 years ago. I have a translation and it's possible meaning from various sources. Has anybody encountered these words before.

Strictly, "vomica" translates as either ulcer, sore, boil, or plague / curse.

So it would appear that "terra vomica" could perhaps be "cursed earth", possibly a stronger meaning than "unconsecrated ground", referring to burial. However, I have not come across it myself, so this is conjecture.

I only have a basic Latin, but would agree with Michael's idea of 'cursed earth' - however, context is all important - what does this come from and what is the full sentence or paragraph where you found it?
