Hello all

Is there any chance at all that someone would be visiting the London Guildhall Library and be able to look up a Trinity House Pilot's Registration information for me?

The person I am looking for is John HOBBS, born about 1780 in St. Andrew's Parish, Devonshire, who became a Branch Pilot. He died before 1825, but I am not sure whether he died in England or in Quebec.

I understand the relevant microfilms would be:
-Registers of pilots' licences (London) 1808-1986 (Ms 30172)
-Registers of pilots' licences (outports) 1808-46 & 1810-76 covering different ports (Ms 30174)
(Both London and outport registers give pilot's age, residence, qualifications and physical description and are indexed in Ms 30173B, held on Reading Room open shelves.)
-Lists of pilots already working in outports 1808 (Ms 30193)

I would be most grateful if somoeon would have a look for me, since I cannot travel there, and cannot afford to hire a researcher. I would be willing to pay for copying costs and postage.

Thank you all
