Missing Buckley family

I'm tracing a family of Buckleys on behalf of a friend. I have found the family in 1901, RG13 Pc 3690 F 74 Pg 20. 1891 RG 12 Pc 3176 F 20 Pg 36. 1871 RG 10 Pc 4079 F 17 Pg 28.
I can't find them in 1881 or before 1871. Any help much appreciated. Billy

Hi Billysax,

Have as look at this family in 1861, the only thing is that Johns wife is called Catherine, but looking at the '71 census Margaret is a bit younger than John so he may have remarried.

I had just come to the same conclusion and was about to post the same detail,

So we were thinking along the same lines.

If we are on the right lines a John Buckley married a Catherine slate in 1857 district Ashton under Lyne.

Found these 2 in 1881 John Blakely age 10 scholar born Denton, Mary Blacheley age 14 occ cotton weaver born Denton, also listed is some Helsby'. In 1865 a John Buckley married in Manchester and one of the brides listed is a Margaret Helsby. Might be barking up the wrong tree though!

Mine (or rather my friend's) were in Denton and Gorton, Manchester.

1901 census

John Buckley 30 rlwy wagon weigher bn Denton, Frances M 32 bn Gorton, Harold 5 bn Gorton , Eve 2 & Amy 6 days old bn Gorton, ma in law? Margaret Simpson 58 bn Lymm Ches , Thos Simpson 25 bn Gorton.

John marries Francis M Green 1895 so Margt cannot be his ma in law.
Census error

1891 Margaret Buckley bn Lymm 48 living in Gorton
Mary 24, John 20, Thomas 15.
