I've been asked by a cousin to find out the details of a family who Emigrated to NSW in 1884 and I haven't a clue where to look.
Joseph Askew b 1852 and his family left England on the 23rd May 1884 aboard the S.S. Texan. I believe their destination was Sydney. What he really wants to know is :- Did a son Robert make the journey with the family ? His information is that Robert died in 1886 in Nottingham, England, but he doubts this was the case. Any information gratefully received.

In the "Unassisted Immigrant Passenger Lists", Ancestry also lists on that voyage "I. ASKEW" - no age given, so "I" probably stands for "infant".
