Found in the 1871 census in London, UK. Gives his birth place as Kingston, Jamaica. Born c1815. Would love, if possible, to know the names of his parents or be able to view a baptism record for myself. Any ideas how I go about finding this information (short of travelling to Jamaica myself of course).
Family lore suggests he was a plantation owner, but other evidence may point to him being an artist.
By 1850 he was living in Saville, Spain where his son Richard was born. I have no idea who Richards mother was but know she died shortly after the birth of their second child, Cecile, in 1852.
Where did Filipe Martin VILLAMIL marry??? Jamaica or somewhere between there and Spain??
