Question CORISTINE OPR Births in Liverpool (c1837-1840)

In 1840, three Irish brothers (Rochford D (1810), John (1811) and James (c1815)CORISTINE, aka CORRISTINE, CORRESTINE, etc), emigrated pre-famine with their wives and families to Montreal, Quebec, Canada from County Mayo, Ireland. The story of John CORISTINE's family and the success of his son James (c1837) in the Canadian fur industry is now online at https://www.browness.net/coristine.htm . Nonetheless, one brick wall remains in this research and that is the absence of a birth registration for son James. John (1811, the husband of Dinah CARSHORE) and James (c1837) were not Catholic and, so far as evidenced by the family's other BMD registrations, followed the Baptist and Church of Ireland/Anglican faiths. Despite extensive searching and the fact that all other family members were registered, no old parish birth/baptismal records covering James have yet been found in either Ireland (including the counties adjoining Mayo) or in Canada. However, it is known that many Irish emigrants of the day actually sailed from Liverpool, where the passage was more affordable -and- that the CORISTINE name was not completely unknown on the civil records around Liverpool. If anyone has access to local old parish registers, including those of non-conformists, for the period in question, a look-up would be very much appreciated. Many thanks! (from Canada)

In the 1901 census in Montreal, James CORISTINE gives his own date & place of birth as 3 August 1838, Ireland. I can't find a civil registration for his birth in England. It seems very unlikely that his parents would take him on 2 hazardous sea journeys, first from Ireland, then to Canada, without having him baptised first.
Without the name of the church & the date of baptism, it is extremely time-consuming to find a baptism in Liverpool. There were 50+ C of E churches in the city. In the main church, St Peter's, there were up to 50 baptisms per day.
