Hi, I have been researching these surnames (but not Drake) worldwide since 1970, and have nearly 2,500 pages of tree and notes, plus numerous source files. I would like to hear from anyone related to any of these names and their variants. The surname 'Drake' is not normally related, with the exception of one line that switches from Drax to Drakes to Drake and back. These surnames are primarily from North Lincolnshire and West Yorkshire in England. However, there are a considerable number in the West Indies and America. I am particularly stuck with these West Indian/American lines, many of whom appear to descend from slaves on the Drax estate in Barbados. I run a web site and offer free help to family members; my email address is avilable there. Do you have any of these names in your tree? If so, I look forward to hearing from you soon. please, Chris
